When Chicago firefighter Jack Moniker retires and moves to a small Caribbean island, he is befriended by the owner of a run-down resort. Together they renovate the resort and lure tourists to Club Paradise in an effort to fight off corrupt officials and businessmen who want to claim the resort as their own.

This movie's really funny. And Robin Williams gives probably one of his most relaxed, natural performances.Don't believe the hype in "Marshall Fine's" review.

Yes, this movie has a ton of great stars, but what're they doing in this movie? Not much. The story is predictable and sometimes boring. Overall, it's just okay.

Hughes, though he gives the material a sense of fun and achieves several moments of genuine warmth, too often resorts to obvious cliches, stereotypes, and easy answers, and throws in the near-obligatory rock video as well.
