People just don't get Stephen Chow. His movies continue to perform poorly in the U.S., but it's because U.S. people just don't comprehend Asian culture (I just don't think it can be taught, but must be experienced). His humor hits the spot for me, and I went through an emotional roller coaster ride of laughter, sadness, and warmth. This movie reveals the not so glamorous side of the Chinese economic bubble along with decay and shift in values due to modernization. And, he tells this well in a fantasy comedy. Good movie for kids too.

With respect both for the brighter and for the darker side of children, CJ7 is halfway between E.T. and a parody like Paul, mixing the tone of tenderness and bitter humour. And come ahead of them, being a satire about chinese shameful exploitation of worker, about the thinning relationship between family and (real) pets, and a ode to the losers. Thumbs up for the most mistreated sweet puppy on Earth.

CJ7 is possibly the funniest family movie I've seen all year. Yes, dare I say it, it's even better than Wall-E. I haven't cried from laughing so hard in such a while. It's made by Stephen Chow (Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle) and even though this film is not about kung fu (aside from one or two scenes), it's still got that wacky funny style that he's known for from his other films. His regular group cast is all here as well, but it's the main kid and CJ7 that are truly amazingly hilarious and well acted. Give it a shot, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Stephen Chow is the chinese hope and renovation in the film industry of that country, with magical comedy and martial arts of course make a children movie unbilieveble
