I loved the TV-series and wasnÂ´t dissapointed by the movie! for those who liked City of God, i would reccommend the series and the movie afterwards. A lot of main characters from the Tv-series die in this one!

Not as fantastic as City of God, but brings up the difficulties that arise in poverty in Brazil, and connections that can decide your friends, your life and your death.

The follow up to City of God (different director, same general premise), one of my favorite movies. The cinematography is less Tarantino like this time but the story continues to be strong and shocking. The contrasts between the slums of favelas and the beauty of Rio de Janeiro are jaw dropping. It's my top movie so far this year. I'll be watching the TV series next.
