A group of American executives making a film about World War II decide that since their lead is rather unglamorous, they will draft in an American G.I. to play the part of Winston Churchill. Much funnier than I expected it to be. Plays nicely on the American/ British stereotypes and has a fantastic cast, Vic and Bob in particular for me. Leslie Phillips was superb in his role, loved seeing Rik Mayall in there, and what a beautiful send up of Adolf Hitler. Final mention must go to the lovely Miranda Richardson, mmm!

Probably should have been called "The Comic Strip Presents... Churchill: The Hollywood Years", same writers, producers and many of the same actors. Either way, it's a hilarious take on the way the Hollywood studios re-write history to suit themselves. Well written, well acted and funny as hell. A must watch.

The jokes in this film are like waiting for a train. You hear them coming, know that they are coming and them watch them shuffle into the station, ashamed.
