Christmas in Connecticut (1945)

While recovering in a hospital, war hero Jefferson Jones grows familiar with the "Diary of a Housewife" column written by Elizabeth Lane. Jeff's nurse arranges with Elizabeth's publisher, Alexander Yardley, for Jeff to spend the holiday at Elizabeth's bucolic Connecticut farm with her husband and child. But the column is a sham, so Elizabeth and her editor, Dudley Beecham, in fear of losing their jobs, hasten to set up the single, childless and entirely nondomestic Elizabeth on a country farm.

It's cute! I've been trying out new Christmas movies this year. This won't be one I watch every year, but I liked it. Oh, and pay no attention to the synopsis attached to this movie because it contains many inaccuracies. WHO writes those things? And do they ever pay attention to the actual movie?

A very funny holiday comedy that channels the rush and stress involved that the holidays bring into a great movie featuring the comedic talents of Barbara Stanwyck, Dennis Morgan, and Sydney Greenstreet. I can see why this is a classic!

A wonderful holiday classic! Stanwyck is hilarious. Great actors throughout, and indelible situations. It wouldn't be Christmas without it.
