Christmas in Connecticut (1945)

While recovering in a hospital, war hero Jefferson Jones grows familiar with the "Diary of a Housewife" column written by Elizabeth Lane. Jeff's nurse arranges with Elizabeth's publisher, Alexander Yardley, for Jeff to spend the holiday at Elizabeth's bucolic Connecticut farm with her husband and child. But the column is a sham, so Elizabeth and her editor, Dudley Beecham, in fear of losing their jobs, hasten to set up the single, childless and entirely nondomestic Elizabeth on a country farm.

Delightful screwball comedy with ADD. Special goldstar sidekick-points for the fabulous Uncle Felix, who's easily the most most hilarious thing in the movie.

This romantic comedy is very funny and very sweet, I enjoyed it, and I think you will too. It has an interesting story of lies and getting out of lies and finding love. The actors are great, I loved Stanwyck in this one. This is a fun movie, I recommend it.

this is a cute and fluffy comedy stanwyck made on the heels of double indemnity that has become a holiday perennial. babs plays a martha stewart type super homemaker, only she isn't. her hospitality is put to the test by a war hero (dennis morgan) and the owner of the magazine she writes for, played by sydney greenstreet. there are some funny bits, including babs trying to figure out how to diaper a baby.
