A lazy, uninspired, "throw back" that sacrifices the spirit of the original. Feels like a second-rate, knock off, dollar store version of the original. Plaza is given nothing to do in a thankless role. The kills are poorly shot and edited. There's not one bit of effective tension or scares, or anything in the way of laughs. It tries really hard to be dumb fun, but instead is just really dumb.

I could watch this endlessly. It is so good. Gabriel Bateman, Aubrey Plaza, Mark Hamill, and everybody else is amazing!!! I love this movie to death.

If you like illogical gore this is your film. If you like a plot that makes sense, this is NOT your film. While the acting was actually pretty good, the plot was... kind of bad. It doesn't know where it wants to go then something snaps with no explanation. Overall fun if you don't look too much into it.

This movie was awesome. It had a great build up, the only people that you will see in reviews that don't like this movie were fans of the original. It's not the original, the original had a terrible back story, this one is actually believable. Look at all the negative reviews and see for yourself, they all mention liking the original movies.

The result is a surprisingly entertaining, gory delight. Even hard-lined horror abstainers can comfortably enjoy the film’s grim humour and excessively over-the-top carnage.
