Cherry Tree Lane (2010)

Prosperous professional couple Mike and Christine are settling in for a standard evening of wine, TV and low-level marital hostility when a ring on their doorbell changes everything. Turns out their son Sebastian is in a little trouble with some local boys, who are quite prepared to camp out and wait for him to get home ... the resulting culture-clash chamber drama is raw, revealing and nerve-splittingly tense.

good movie à la Funny games, incredibly bad ending.

I thought it was boring, pointless, and annoying. It's like a hash of Funny Games, The Strangers, and Hard Candy, but just UK hood shit rubbish about 3 tossers with a blade. The direction and photography were alright, but any UK film that wins the Nat. Lot will have this. It's definitely a film geared for the UK and follows a string of certain UK films released the last 3 years dealing with hooligans and urban youth that can strike Americans as lame or simply soft. At an hour and 18 minutes, the film starts out sort of interesting, but when an oreo of 3 fannies show up, eat food, smoke weed, and watch tv, I'm like 'yawn.' Don't watch it: Watch Funny Games instead.

Home invasion type not at its best.... This is a typical home invasion type movie but the screenplay stuff was not so strong enough to hold the story. The whole story happens inside a house. So the main revenge reference was just missing. Acting was just OK. The whole film seems like one scene just developed in a not so interesting manner. I would say last house on the left and the strangers were good compared to this. Just don't watch this with some expectations . I would give 4 on 10

Young hoodlums enter a couple's house in search for their son. He's not home and that pisses them off. Another 'bad youngsters' horror flick in the vein of 'F' and 'Eden Lake'. Well done with a tiny budget.

A film very similar to Eden Lake, they might as well have called it "Eden House". Very simple storyline. Middle class couple are eating meal at home when hoodies break in and tie them up. It's probably best to leave it at that, part of the enjoyment is being like the kidnappers (with no idea why this is happening). If you like violence and dark humour, this is for you. I found it gripping and a bit effed up really. It's never gonna be a classic, it's just a very good film. It's pretty short as well so numb bums shouldn't be a worry. I liked the ending, suitably grim.
