"Chasing October" is a docu-comedy that chronicles one fan's crusade to take the Chicago Cubs to the World Series "by any means necessary." I felt the power, insanity, and pain of the 2003 season all over again. I love this film not just because I'm a Cubs fan and it legitmizes my obsession, but because it's hilarious and heart-breaking and oh-so-real.

An entertaining docu-comedy along the lines of the Morgan Spurlock films, Chasing October follows the adventures of film-maker Matt Liston as he becomes an unofficial mascot for the Chicago Cubs during their devastating 2003 season. Looking at Matt's top three favorite things, you can begin to guess what happens in the film: 1) The Cubs, 2) Lou Malnati's Pizza, 3) Girlfriend.

Chasing October is not the all-encompassing document on the Cubs that I'm sure even Matt Liston would love to see someday. But it is another chapter in the book racking up more disasters than the Old Testament.
