Three rookie teachers and one unenthusiastic assistant principal face a rambunctious student body, a cantankerous set of colleagues, embarrassing rumors, equipment malfunctions and various absurdities at Harrison High, a typically provocative and volatile (although fictional) public school in Austin, Texas. The documentary-style comedy won several awards, including Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Cast at the 2006 Los Angeles Film Festival.

I'm guessing the people that gave this movie negative reviews aren't teachers, because there was so much reality in this movie. Sure there are caricatures, but I recoginize a lot of myself and other teachers (and some students too) in this film. It helps that the writers were teachers themselves. I highly recommend this movie - it might not be laugh out loud or hugely entertaining, but teaching isn't always laugh out loud or hugely entertaining either! Its a bit of reality, folks.

Pretty much the definition of indie, and one of the more realistic portrayals of High School, which may be that it's one of the few that focuses on the teacher's drama rather than the students drama. Interesting, awkwardly funny, and it gave me a new respect for the profession.

The characters in this film were hilarious and painfully realistic. I'm sure things would be easier if students just stopped using words the teachers cannot understand.
