Former Hollywood star Reagan Pearce is kidnapped by two men connected to his past while on location in Louisiana. It's tonally schizophrenic and seems to be trying to say more than it ever manages to. Still, it's harrowing enough, often enough, to qualify as a functional thriller, and as always, Phillippe has real presence.

While Phillippe's tongue seldom ventures far from his cheek in addressing the cult of celebrity, he maintains a nice technical grip on the tension and intensity — at least until things start to unravel toward the end.

Torture Porn. Pointless. Strange thing - there is actually an interesting comedy movie inherent in the concept - Actor kidnapped/kidnappers use social media to damage his reputation... Instead, Phillippe goes for the "Hostel" thing. I'm just not interested in watching someone get beaten up for 96 minutes.
