** (out of four) Elizabeth Taylor won an Oscar for this film more out of sympathy (her husband had recently died in an accident & she had suffered from an illness) than because the film performance deserved an award. Taylor plays a high priced call girl who still lives with her mother. She refuses to see herself as a prostitute. There is some fun campy dialogue, but the film is mostly a mess and Taylor's performance isn't one of her best.

The dialogue is rough. Let's say O'Harrowing. And the ending is absurd. But so is most of it for that matter. It's the living it up that gets you in this film.

Liz Taylor is glamorous. It's Laurence Harvey that should be knocked down instead of her. But the whole story couldn't make me care less.
