Bushwick imagines nothing less than the collapse of the United States Of America, with half the country in armed revolt. At a time when that possibility can feel all too frighteningly real, it’s dispiriting to see it employed as little more than an excuse to engineer a live-action Grand Theft Auto.

...what we see on screen could easily have been from an embedded documentary...

I really enjoyed the movie. Dave Bautista does a great job acting as the tough guy trying to get through another day in Bushwick, New York. Favorite part was when Hasidic Jews molotov a group of insurgence.

Stars Dave Bautista and Brittany Snow aren’t compelling enough, and the film’s formal gimmicks aren’t clever enough.

Luke Y. Thompson 10 Sep 2017

...in its best moments combines the role-reversal/neighborhood pride of Attack the Block with the "we are the enemy" mentality of The Purge.
