A culmination of over a decade of investment, Boyhood captures the magic of life and growing up in such a simplistic approach that it feels as if we're growing up all over again while watching it.

Neck and neck with Birdman for the finest film of 2014, Richard Linklater's Boyhood is an ambitious film that I deeply resonated with. It's also very well acted (Particularly from Patricia Arquette, who won the Oscar for her role), and newcomers Ellar Coltrane and Lorelei Linklater got progressively better as the film went on, which is nigh impossible for child actors. The film's imposing length, was offset by my becoming mesmerized by what was in front of me. This is definitely one of the decade's finest films so far. Verdict: A+

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. One sign of a great movie is when it's very long (this one is nearly three hours) but it never feels long. I could have watched this family's story go on for another couple hours. I suspect many people will be turned off by this film because it is so far removed from what Hollywood normally serves up. This movie is outside the box. It doesn't have a climax nor an ending that wraps things up as we're used to. It really just follows a family around for twelve years. Sounds kind of simple and perhaps boring, right? I was riveted. I would have voted this Best Picture of 2014.

Amazing movie. I think one of the best movies out there. Easily should have won the Academy award. It was much better than Birdman as far as the overall story. You just became so involved in his life it was a great movie experience.

A phenomenal and exceptional film from beginning to end.
