Borstal Boy (2001)

Brendan Behan, a sixteen year-old IRA foot soldier, is going on a bombing mission from Ireland to Liverpool during the second world war. His mission is thwarted when he is apprehended, charged and imprisoned in Borstal, a reform institution for young offenders in East Anglia, England.

An important and interesting story, but the reform school itself never seems terribly harsh.

Extremely good! I bought this just for Danny Dyer and wasn't disappointed on that front, plus the story and the overall feel of the movie is excellent (and very sad!) Danny and Shawn kissing is rather nice too ;)

In a sense I was blown away with this film. I really enjoyed the narrative and sheridan obviously knew what he wanted to get out of the film. The only thing that put me off was the gay kissing scene, I just dont think there was any need for it. Other than that it is an awesome film; well written, directed and acted.
