Those who feel that Al Pacino did no wrong during the 1970s obviously never saw Bobby Deerfield.

One of Sydney Pollack's worst films, this sechmaltzy romantic drama about the life and loves of a car racer (poorly played by Al Pacino) has no redeeming qualities in either length; Pollack recut the film to 99 minutes for TV.

Sad, boring drama, with a lifeless Al Pacino as an American Formula 1 racer driving the European circuit, who's doubts of life affect his decisions on and off the track. Along the way, he falls for a free-spirited woman (Marthe Keller), who's ailing from that popular movie disease no one knows about. Dull from beginning to end, with stiff characters. Pacino and director Sydney Pollack should leave this one off their resumes.

Not your average Pacino film which makes this fabulous. Good story with plenty of the 70 class that is overlooked today.
