Notable for two reasons: Nicole Kidman's first film role (at age 15) and an early film in the career of director Brian Trenchard-Smith, who proves a script can be stretched a long way with a talented director. This would prove to be a talent for Trenchard-Smith as he went on to direct such stinkers as "Night of the Demons 2" and the third and fourth entries in the "Leprechaun" franchise. The plot of "BMX Bandits" is simplistic, the acting is corny, and the BMX stunts, though likely advanced for the time, induce yawns. A much better film is "Rad," the 1986 BMX-themed movie from Hal Needham, director of "Smoky and the Bandit" and "The Cannonball Run."

80's kids films don't come better than this rip-roaring, Ozzy classic. An early role for Nicole Kidman, walkie-talkies, water parks and foam parties make this an absolute treat.
