Indeed, the best parts of Birds of Prey are the action sequences of the all-women team fighting together, but many of these scenes don't take place until the movie's second half.

The movie is delightfully odd but not consistently inspired, often straining to rewrite the rules of superhero cinema, a mixture of good and bad ideas all mashed together. Where other comic-book movies lumber along with self-importance, this film is a breezy, amoral lark, which proves somewhat refreshing. But that’s not enough to allow Birds’ hit-or-miss pleasure to soar.

The movie has some good choreography and a few laughs but the story is incredibly thin, the interesting characters are pushed and and not well established or fleshed out, the villain had a lot of potential but was incredibly underwhelming and came with a seriously disappointing ending. It focuses too much on harley quinn however her character is explored more in a better way than in suicide squad. With a couple funny moments, a lot of the jokes fall short. The movie is just overall disappointing especially to people who are fans of these characters.

Christina Hodson’s script is a madcap, irreverent roller coaster ride, the story relayed in a loopy, looping, nonlinear fashion through Harley’s hyperactive storytelling style.

Margot Robbie is great, and it has some really great visuals and action sequences. Unfortunately, all of the other characters are underdeveloped. It's poorly paced and hectically edited to the point where I just found it really obnoxious.
