This is my favorite movie. Arliss Howard rocks. One of the few movies I've ever seen that surpassed the book.

It's the film's languid, woozy feel that draws you in and keeps you there, stuck like a moth in a killing jar redolent of Old Grandad.

It all comes down to whether you can tolerate Leon Barlow. I can't. Big Bad Love can, and is filled with characters who love and accept him, even though he is a full-time, gold-plated pain in the can.

A flawed effort at best, but intriguing nonetheless.

This was an amazing and unique film in how it is both directed and filmed. Clever and smart - heartcrushing and soul revealing. Rings as true as a bell and if you don't hear it ringing you've lost yourself somewhere along the way. A real piece of art.
