An interesting documentary on origami that looks beyond the art and examines it through scientific and mathematic applications. You get to see traditional techniques as well as unconventional methods of folding paper. And although the documentary wasn't riveting, it kepts my attention well enough to wonder what they were doing and where were they going next.

*On netflix streaming* I didn't expect much from a PBS documentry on oragami. I was amazed by the skill of these artist. This is a art medium for a genius and as a fan of art I believe this form takes more techical skill than anything else. I totally buy into how the artist explain their art, even the abstract stuff. As a art student you some times feel like artist BS through there work. All these artist are very intelligent (one is the youngest MIT professor ever) and are interesting on a intelectual level. I actually looked up some oragami on the internet after watching this a did some.

Though I didn't care for the narrator (whom I'm assuming is also the director), this is actually a fascinating collection of all the different fields involved in something as "simple" as origami.

This was a good documentary. Starting out slow, gaining a steady pace and in the end: a fascinating payoff of sorts, explaining the precise nature of origami, how it spellbinds artists and mathematicians alike and even exudes a tech-forward practicality for the advancement of science and safety. Highly recommended for thinkers and aestheticians alike.
