Heard this wasn't that good and for once they were right, honestly when John Houston and Bogart do a movie its usually good. I found it funny to see Peter Lorre from a young creepy guy int he Maltese Falcon to a plump old man, but his voice and demenor is still the same. The movie plays like a 50s indie film that is as dry as the setting of the film I gather, very boring and very disappointing, if this movie was to lampoon caper movies like the one they did The Maltese Falcon, they failed miserably.

the movie is suppose to be satirical, but i couldn't fully appreciate that aspect of the film. i couldn't sense the self-mockery involved in the project which it is known for. so when watching this film, not sensing that, you just view it as a straight narrative with some witty lines and in the end that is the film you've seen. in the end, i saw a pretty good film, that's it. if i saw the right slant on this film it could have been a damn good film, but i didn't catch it. bogart is bogart, u gotta love him, peter lorre is and forever will be the man. the main girl who falls in love with bogart is a tad bit on the annoying side but not too much, just certain conversations she tends to wear out her welcome. the british husband is a stereotype if there ever was one. the fat guy in this movie is really good just because he looks scared out of his ass 90% of the movie, which he does so convincingly.

They say this was the original cult movie. Imagine 'The Big Lebowski' starring Humphrey Bogart. Yeah, it's that awesome.

No clue what's going on in this movie but Bogey and Lorre are pretty great

A great cast in a great movie about a bunch of thieves. I highly recommend this movie.
