A little edgier than "High School Musical" and a little smarter than the usual tween fare, "Bandslam" is a refreshing late-summer treat for tweens, teens, and their families.

It's smart, funny, entertaining, cute, but at the same time mature and totally not stereotypic Best family film of the year. Finally a different music film.

JMJ Find a theatre still playing this. This movie was poorly marketed but it was laugh outloud funny and a good kleenex scene too. Find it and go see it with the 12+ crowd. It's a summer sleeper that should have been a big hit

When I thought I figure the film out then I was wrong. I love the song everything I own in this film and also Aly's song someone to fall back on.

Such a cute movie! Loved the singing and the characters. Aly does an excellent job as the lead singer of the band. Gaelan is lovable as the geeky, music-know-it-all, and Vanessa rocked the house with her performance in the end. Also worth mentioning is Lisa Kudrow's character as Gaelan's mom. Must see for those who love a good underdog movie.
