a well tailored french movie on a sensitive subject. Sometimes humorous, sometimes bitter proves that what really matters at the end is human relationships (of all shades).

This is quite an entertaining film & has the merit of contributing to the debate and reflection (in France and elsewhere in Europe) about the issue of adoption by homossexual couples, and also about the new types of families. Whether some like it or not the "classical" type of families are changing in present day society (in France more than half of births come from non married people) and society needs not only to learn how to live with that, it needs to adopt the legal mechanisms to accommodate this and provide equal treatment and opportunities for all. This soft comedy is a positive contribution to the discussion, because instead of following a militant approach, it deals with the issue in a funny yet serious way. Of course it doesn't lack the 'violins' and the nice characters to call the easy tear and the empathy of the spectator, but it remains sober, serious and, above all, very human. A must see.

DrÃ´le et Ã©mouvant. Un sujet sÃ©rieux traitÃ© avec sÃ©rieux. Le rÃ©alisateur n'a pas eu recours aux clichÃ©s. Allez-y vous passerez un bon moment. Anne Brochet est drÃ´lissime. Lambert Wilson est touchant > son plus beau rÃ´le d'acteur.
