It isn't an outstanding movie considering it's cast, dialogs, special effects and scenery(well, what is the point of filming a movie and not writing a book; Not everyone has the time or the luxury to read a book). Overall it is a quite nice movie that passes some theoriticaly simple to understand messages. I recomende it for people that enjoy an easy to understand and meaningfull movie.

The writer has tried a mishmash of allegories, that for the US viewer might not be so obvious. The first is obvious to everyone. You have what happens with repressed childhood abuse. That doesn't ring true though. Impossible it took 50 years to finally come out . Been there. It was also done hamfisted. Then we have the Brexit allegory. His over use of "patronised" and then "bumpkin." Thickos not believing or understanding the "facts" and then protesting. The Asian girl being smarter than the rest of the white trash. Yes, white average folk are racist and stupid. Ironic and perverse the writer chooses to do that way. You put down other races so I'll put down you. Childish tit for tat. Then you had the religious aspect thrown in at the end. A try at a clever twist that never worked at all. I see what he did. Something if I had the funds I would had done at college, just throw a lot of frustrated beliefs I had in to some little household drama plus sci-fi film.

Await Further Instructions deliberately resists pitting the characters' beliefs against each other in favour of keeping the conflict shallow and straightforward...This is particularly true once the body count begins to rise

Just awful all around. It’s an interesting idea at the get go, but with characters that are impossible to connect with, you don’t find yourself caring what direction the movie heads in. Not to mention, when the monsters are finally revealed in the end, there is truly nothing special about them. They are not terrifying in the slightest, and the special effects are the cheesiest I’ve seen in a while. If anything, by the time you get to the end of the movie, it is more laughable than scary.
