Remember that old "Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense" episode called "Child's Play" in which a family wakes up one day and finds their house completely covered by bricks and in the end, it's revealed that the family and the house are really just some toys of a future girl? Well, this is kinda an update of that idea, but with a final twist a little more absurd ... and awesome. It also works like a great Christmas movie, as well as a pulpy sci-fi with grotesque not-so-subtle commentary about patterns of toxic and retrograde behavior perpetuated by the media.

I thought this movie was quite awful. The cast does a poor job "acting" and doesn't really sell the predicament the characters are in. Then again, It's not like they had top-notch writing to deal with. The characters are painfully shallow, The plot offers little explanation and makes little sense as well. I mean it's obvious the film is about how technology controls our lives and how little we question things we see on the internet, That is obvious. But it's too obvious and almost way too in your face.

Like many of the Black Mirror / Twilight Zone scenario movies as of late, the writers really have no idea how the come up with an ending. Just like in The Platform, another movie that botches it, the ending is just vaguely mystical and we have to settle for never knowing. Highly unsatisfying.

All at once tense family drama, Cronenbergian horror, social satire and sci-fi reimagining of the Nativity, Await Further Instructions shows how difficult it is to escape the domineering, malevolent influence of the media.

I loved this, a great horror film that just builds and builds. It basically starts as a family get together at Christmas but after some falling out the son and his girlfriend decide to leave early Christmas morning, as they sneak down stairs to leave they realise that they are sealed in from outside. Then as the family follow instructions on the Television the horror slowly begins to unfold as the family quickly fall apart. Really enjoyed this one.
