RT critics got this one wrong. August Chick is a strong artist and this movie was an 8 out or 10 or more. Good work A. Chick; looking forward to future works.

Smartly scripted, convincingly atmospheric morality fable in which Hartnett, usually insubstantial as a good guy, plays a convincingly flawed character galloping toward the precipice.

Chick's underwhelming exploration of post-millennial angst is as empty and vacant as its protagonist's inexpressive peepers.

a very good movie that was probably very realistic concerning the tech companies that went belly up or bought up during the august of 2001, which was just a month before 9/11. josh hartnett does a very excellent job and you have to have some sympathy for the character, because he finally at the end does sacrifice himself and swallows his pride and walks away from the company he helped start so his brothers and friends can continue having the job at the company. hartnett should've received some type of nomination for this role because you really do feel that he is that character to the core.

Much better than the ratings & reviews indicate. This is the first film I've seen that effectively captures that unbearable e-snottiness that flooded America during the dotcom craze. The story is set in August 2001, which perhaps is still too recent in the public consciousness to be fairly objective. The cast is superb, including David Bowie who delivers a briliant albeit brief scene towards the end. Plus, there's no trace of those all to familiar "indie" film clichés that compel you to hit Eject (except for the score perhaps, which I found somewhat relentless.) Deserves to be re-evaluated, once we all grow up a little.
