Worthy and horrific subject. For this reason alone it is a film worth watching, even though it is directed by the world's worst director and with a filming style that is painful to watch. At least it takes some of the edge off some of the actions. Watch because you should feel the anger for what has gone on, rather than because it's a classic.

Only Uwe Boll, Hollywood's most inept director, could make a mess of a movie about Darfur. Instead of informing or telling the stories of the people he went for the shock and horror factor, then abruptly shifted to a preachy ending. The middle was filled with shaky cam renditions of carnage without any context in which to frame the complexities of the situation going on in Darfur or the tragedies of the individuals affected. Instead of filming this in South Sudan and injecting some much-needed income into the struggling country he chose to film in Capetown, South Africa and use only a few Sudanese people for the roles. Fairly hypocritical considering that the only point he tries (and fails) to make is that nobody helps them. This is horror tourism trying to pass itself off as a serious film; don't bother.

This is a really powerful film about an ongoing genocide in Darfur. What makes this film so special is that real Darfur refugees play themselves and relive the most tragic moments in their lives. I got to say i was skeptical with Uwe Boll directing this, but fact of the matter is that this film really struck a cord in me with it`s brutally honest and graphic scenes of inhumanity towards the helpless. I guess Boll is a hit and miss director, but he misses ten times before he strikes with one hell of a movie.
