Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies (2016)

Steve, a young professional snowboarder, ruins a high-paying photo shoot by playing a silly prank. He, his girlfriend Branka and fellow snowboarder Joschi are left behind on the mountain. They seek shelter in an après-ski tavern that is hosting an all-night party. Things go from bad to worse when a scientific experiment unleashes an epidemic of zombies and mutant wildlife. This is mostly lost on the local drunkards, as they are not always easy to distinguish from zombies themselves. But Steve, Branka and Joschi have to find a way to survive this hellish night.

Awesome addition to the Zomb/horror/Com genre.

Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies is an exciting zombie film that'll leave you wanting more. It's made up of a wildly entertaining cast of snowboarders that never thought their snowy vacation would leave them hopeless, stranded and fighting for survival. From beginning to end, the plot immediately captivated me. I liked how it showed where the zombie apocalypse originated and all the madness that ensued afterwards. The young cast was perfect for this entertaining zombie flick. Blood, guts and a love story; it's the perfect execution of a thrilling "rom-zom-com". This film is very unique and enjoyable, which is a perfect combination for any new addition to the horror genre. It's definitely worth the watch.

It falls firmly into the 'disposable fun' category, but ultimately it isn't much more than that.

Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies is a fantastic independent film about a group of snowboarder's misadventures while they are left behind during a zombie outbreak in the Austrian Alps. It follows the plot of a traditional zombie movie, but takes it to the next level with it's unconventional aspects. The snow-white Austrian Alpine Mountains are different than the usual abandoned town seen in most zombie movies. As for the murder methods, from ski poles to snow blowers, they are very creative and unlike any other zombie movie I've seen. The young, up-and-coming actors Laurie Calvert (Steve) and Gabriela Marcinková (Branka) play a very nonchalant couple and perform great on-screen together. Steve plays the bad boy part, but with more depth, nicely. Branka is no damsel in distress, she's maybe even more badass than Steve. As someone who is more attracted to dramas, I was pleasantly surprised by this film. Throughout the 80 minutes of run time, I was either laughing or shielding my eyes. 10/10, I would definitely recommend this movie as your next light watch.
