By the numbers documentary about an un-arguably interesting subject. Certainly an inspiration to indie record labels anywhere.

If you like Standing In The Shadows of Motown...or just a big fan of Funk/Soul/Rock music...this is an essential watch. Also the last footage of Ray Charles before his death. Very informative.

What his wife says about letting her man have his fun with other women is not a common take on what keeps a good marriage going. Don't watch this to learn about music, although you could, watch this documentary to learn about Ahmet Ertegun (and watch it with a business eye.) Not only did Ertegun know music, there is no doubt, what impressed me the most is he understood what the public wanted to hear from each artist and he encouraged his artists to cater to that listener.
