There's something particularly dispiriting about a movie that seems predicated on edgy authenticity, then goes soaring over the melodramatic top without any self-awareness.

Definitely some strong and interesting filmmaking at work here, in terms of the script, cinematography, performances and editing. There's also some terrible overly-dramatized moments that had me frustrated. So it's a bit of a mixed bag. But I appreciate the intentions to do something different with this movie.
