Article 99 (1992)

Dr. Richard Sturgess leads a team of compassionate doctors at a veteran's hospital. Along with Drs. Morgan, Handleman and Van Dorn, he fights to deliver adequate care to needy veterans in the face of funding cuts and a corrupt administration. To succeed, the staff may have to bend the rules and circumvent the villainous "Article 99," a bureaucratic loophole that prevents veterans from receiving the benefits they deserve.

Breakfast Club metts MASH. Up there with "Saigon" in the pantheon of "Decent 90's Films you never saw". Ray Liotta, Forrest Whitaker, Kiefer Sutherland, come arnnnnn, tell me that isnt a cast worthy of rental?

If you haven't seen this movie then I recommend it, kinda like a modern day M*A*S*H, but instead of a far off distant country the war is right here at home, as a group of doctors have to break every rule in the book to defeat a corrupt system and get America's war veterans the treatment they deserve.

I was an army brat so I appreciated this movie since the goverment *does* work this way. However, I also work in a hospital and I realize there are rules for a reason. This movie was very idealistic and I can't believe no one got locked up for some of the stunts they pulled.

Outstanding cast, highly controversial topic especially in todays political climate. As an employee of the NHS this film rang true on many levels! Bravo, thoroughly enjoyable.

Ray Liotta is a fav and Kiefer Sutherland is ok, so with a fairly good script this is actually really good!
