Interesting and disturbing. The message goes through well. At least one brilliant scene. Still, quite long.

I don't know how this went under my radar for so long, but as a documentary film mkaer who has been weighed down by all the recent shlock... this film restored my faith in the medium/genre.

um...whoa dude...whoa. one of the weirder docs i've ever seen, and be warned-- a FAR bleaker film than the bright cover and title would imply. there was no real plot of trajectory to this film, just strategically juxtaposed clips that hint at the emotionally desperate humans' fraught relationship with their pets; hovering between sadism or bestiality but never quite touching either.

This depressing and realistic film is hard to endure, but it is worth every minute of it. It is shot in Vienna, but could be anyplace in the Western world.
