The film starts off with a fun idea and a slow-build, but eventually becomes lazy and rushed towards the final act, almost as if all the characters it has set-up doesn't matter. You are better off skipping this.

Five friends head off for a trip away to a remote part of the woods which two of them used to visit when they were younger. Soon darkness falls and this unknown animal is on the loose killing anything in its way.

If you can say nothing else about it, you have to give this movie credit, the preverbal 'Animal' in the film is truly unique. In a world full of vampires, werewolves, and zombies it's nice to get this Chupacabra-like monster which serves as our titular 'animal.' Outside of that, nothing really stands out. The cast is made up of mostly ex-Nickelodeon starlets, and the characters are about as average as most B-grade monster movie characters are. But like I said, those creature animatronics are great. If nothing else, I hope the people who brought it to life have a long a fruitful career ahead of them.

La verdad no esperaba mucho y me terminó sorprendiendo. Animal es un filme realmente entretenido para un rato aburrido, cuenta con actuaciones que si bien no son oscareables, se podría decir que son buenas, el ritmo de la película tampoco está nada despreciable, puesto que su duración (agregando que no es muy larga) se te pasa de volada. Tiene algunos detalles con el guión (de ahí que no tenga las 5 estrellas), pero muy recomendable!
