Two american girls biking in small villages of Argentina. Everything goes well until after heated argument girls separate and one of them goes missing. Who can you trust? Casanova from bar? Mysterious stranger who speaks english? Local policia? Not the most original story. Both girls are very pretty and scenery in Argentina is nice. Also being foreigner in country give extra degree of creepines to story. Movie was so typical kidnapping/torture-thriller that probably don't even remember it tomorrow. Tonight it still kept me entertained.

Dazzling atmosphere, great performances and a just about interesting enough plot, makes this horror-lite thriller whizz by, at least until the pedestrian climax.

Meh. Although I don't agree with 90% of recent remakes, I do understand the reasoning of a company trying to reboot a popular title to attract new audiences. But remaking And Soon the Darkness is confusing. The original may be somewhat known, but it doesn't even really stand as a cult classic, if you ask me. It would be a different story if the filmmakers were trying to improve on the story, but this is really a lot of the same stuff. I'm not even big on the original, so seeing it updated without improvement was kinda exhausting. Yeah, Amber Heard and Odette Yustman are hot in it, but if you want to see them in good movies and just as hot, watch Mandy Lane and Cloverfield.

If you can get through the poor dialogue and sloppy first hour, the movie becomes decent when the hispanic Jim Carey or Bill Hader look-a-like shows up. Should have more on the eye candy front, considering it stars two of the hottest women in Hollywood, but you have to deal with the quick cutaways instead. But the last act was good enough to make it a respectable renter, I guess. Oh, and Karl Urban deserves what he gets.
