Who doesn't like James Brolin. The movie was good too.

A homeless man gifts a mirror that was in the original Amityville house to a photographer and a series of bad things happen to the inhabitants of the loft apartments. This marks the third time the series has used a storyline of a possessed household item from the original Amityville house to cause havoc elsewhere. A lamp, a clock, and now a mirror. Evidently a tired series with little new to offer although I would still be intrigued to see a household appliance like a blender or toaster from the original house used in a new film.

This has actually been my favorite so far of the "Amityville" sequels. Not because it's good - because it sucks, mind you - but because it doesn't take itself too seriously. It's not scary, and the plot is stupid as hell. It continues along the lines of possessed household objects from the original Amityville house, which was a stupid idea to begin with. And is it really too much to ask that the directors have some consistency with the story from movie to movie? Apparently it is, because the names of the families living in the Amityville house and the methods they were killed by changes each time, and it just drives me nuts. Nevertheless, I say it was a kind of fun movie. They got right to the killing in about 15-20 minutes instead of "building suspense", and many of the death scenes were inventive and entertaining, which is really what you want in a horror movie. Plus, you get Richard fucking Roundtree, Mr. Shaft himself, in a bit part, which is both inexplicable and highly amusing.
