Ajami (2009)

Ajami is an area of Tel Aviv in Israel where Arabs, Palestinians, Jews and Christians live together in a tense atmosphere. Omar, an Israeli Arab, struggles to save his family from a gang of extortionists. He also courts a beautiful Christian girl: Hadir. Malek, an illegal Palestinian worker, tries to collect enough money to pay for his mother's operation. Dando, an Israeli cop, does his utmost to find his missing brother who may have been killed by Palestinians.

Maginifique surprise que ce film loupe l'an passe et rattrape recemment en DVD. Un film vraiment prenant, avec de nombreuses scenes qui feront date. Et la decouverte de nouveaux realisateurs qui parviennent a rendre parfaitement fluide un scenario complexe et ambitieux.

excellent. prend place a la frontiere palestino-israelienne (donc sous fond de religion et pbs politiques actuels) mais est mis en scene de facon plutot moderne avec chapitres et rebondissements. Tres bons acteurs

SÃ³lo puedo decir que me doliÃ³, el dolor del otro me afecta, me aporrea y lo siento en todas las fibras de mi ser! suuper dura... el manejo de la peli aunque confuso x no ser lineal me gustÃ³ y mucho... y eso siii, hace demasiado tiempo no me sentÃa tan ignorante al ver una peli...

Corruption and crime in a society of vulnerable members, Jews, Muslims and Christians, equally. Five stories intertwined in Ajami, a mixed neighborhood in Tel Aviv, where everyday life suddenly turns into drama, with pessimism and confusion the lives of families who would not have any contact, otherwise. Magnificent human film where non actors bring realism rarely seen and makes it a unique movie experience. At times one may wonder why are they were shouting all the time -- it's a necessary exercise of emotional freedom. All the awards, nominations, and positive reviews are perfectly deserved.
