Across the Wide Missouri (1951)

In the 1830's beaver trapper Flint Mitchell and other white men hunt and trap in the then unnamed territories of Montana and Idaho. Flint marries a Blackfoot woman as a way to gain entrance into her people's rich lands, but finds she means more to him than a ticket to good beaver habitat.

Thought this was a pretty good flick. Story line a bit better than some westerns. Fantastic film work in the Rocky Mountains. Good cast.

another mountain men western like 'jeremiah johnson" 'the revenant" or 'mountian men"

A weak western, more so in the performances than the early settlers story. Gable and Montalban go missing for much of their on-screen time and seem to blend in with the supporting cast rather than taking the bull by the horns.

Oudere avonturenfilm/western met Clark Gable. Vertelt een verhaal over de trappers in Montana (heette toen nog niet zo) en hun relatie met de lokale indianenstammen. Degelijke film met mooie natuurbeelden, al zijn de actiescÃ¨nes uiteraard wel verouderd.
