About Scout is another entry in the “charming road movie” genre, one that banks a little too heavily on charm and not enough on story.

The actors (including Danny Glover as the law) are a fine bunch, but the screenplay can't find anything original to do with them.

The bad reviews are surprising on this one. I think this is a great movie that looks at the tragedy in its plot with a wry youthful smile. The lead actors are top-notch, and their chemistry is great. I'd watch it again.
