Wow. What a story. I'm glad I saw it. I will never see it again. Powerful imagery. It has sex, drugs, rock-n-roll and a bunch of things I never want to see again. Top notch production. The acting is superb. Very memorable last 30 minutes. Several parts I'd like to just forget ... but I'm afraid they are seared into my brain, forever scarring me.

It's deliberately controversial and extremely dark. Scenes were no doubt only included in this film to shock you. It is extremely well made and acted and I feel dirty for saying that overall its actually a very good film. The content is extremely shocking and in no way easy to watch. It's not for the weak-stomached and I will never ever watch it again. As I reviewer stated 'I admire and detest it at the same time'. Judge for yourself.

ok one of the most messed up films i have seen ever. honestly but does this make the movie bad. the answer is no. this movie has amazing acting and story telling. the way the movie is shot is amazing their where some angles that i thought that shot is amazing. now what gets most people is the content of the movie. never have i seen scenes in this movie in anything. the scene that got me had to be where the movie starts in my book and if you have seen this movie that is the new genre scene. this movie is not everybodys cup of tea. if you can stomach the content i would highly recommend this movie.

I usually watch films in intervals, but this one, I could not stop or look away until the end credits. "A Serbian Film" is compelling to the point of obsession. Surprisingly, it has prime art direction and the acting is above par and atypical for this genre of film. It pushes taboo to the limit and made me pump my fist in appreciation for the sheer sense of gall it took for the director to risk including some of the content. Though it lives up to it's controversy, it really isn't as brutal to the extent that people say. A lot of the horror is actually implied and allows your mind to fill in the blanks (I guess that's what makes it impressive--you literally feel as if you've seen more than you actually have). The shock content is pretty much void until the last half an hour, and in total, there are only about 4 short scenes of this nature. Realistically, you could simply fast forward those scenes and still have a really solid film for horror fiends. Essentially, no, this film is certainly not safe for (most) life. But that's part of the fun...

I can't deny that this was a really nasty movie. But I was shocked how Serbian cinematography can be so real and prepared to do something like this. The act and directing was amazing, on the highest level, but that storyline at the end of the movie was too much, can't believe on my eyes.
