Astounding, very complex yet utterly real. The acting is perfect, the screenplay profoundly civilized. It is critical that there is no music behind this film, only the sounds of people speaking and living in Tehran, like all of us, wishing to do the right thing and hold our self-respect, but in a moral universe that is far from perfectly obvious. It left me speechless.

Magnificently acted, powerfully directed and lensed. I felt more like a voyeur witnessing a complicated and heart-breaking documentary of life in modern middle Iran. But the problems they face and the themes the film tackled - on the veracity of truth, on faith versus the state, on class wars, on pride and hubris (just to name a few), are universal and felt in tiny apartments, broken streets and claustrophobic stairwells across the world. The twists in the plot are so deftly handled that I found myself switching allegiances at an uncomfortable regularity t/out the film. Did he or didn't he? Why the f^(k won't he just say sorry?? A masterpiece.

MASTERPIECE. One of the best movies of this century along with In the Mood For Love and Boyhood. Asghar Farhadi hits the epitome of direction with this masterly crafted drama that deceives like a thriller. So meticulously is it carried out and so emotional are its performances that by the time it reveals the suspense you are shocked and awed in the brilliance of this arthouse yet universal drama film standing against the best films of all time. Such is the radiance. The humane things: minor glances, smirks, sadness, desperation all is bare in front of you, resonating for years.

Manages to be honest to the turth, and so universally relatable that you just can't help to love it. It's doesn't even try to be Naturalistic, just is because of how well written it is and how well acted the characters are, while still managing to have a cinematic atmosphere to it.
