A Film with Me in It (2008)

A dissolute scriptwriter and a dejected actor become unwittingly drawn into a labyrinthine mess when several people experience bizarre accidental deaths in their flat. Though the men didn't deliberately cause any of the incidents, they fear that they will be unfairly pegged as murderers if they relay information to the cops, and promptly set about disposing of the corpses in gruesome ways.

A Film With Me In It is a clever dark comedy that had me laughing at each ridiculous twist and turn. I look forward to watching the director's follow-up Perrier's Bounty hopefully soon.

The smarmily organic execution pivots upon unpredictable flourishes of postmodern reflexivity and quiet nods to the perplexing traditions of Irish storytelling.

Normally when one makes a black comedy, its imperative that the script contain a modicum of jokes in amongst the bad taste, just to stay within trades description laws. Here, writer Doherty ensures any such content has been extracted before the cameras rolled, leaving whatever semblance of comedy that remained to be crushed unmercifully underfoot by the ineffective meanderings of its inept cast. That said, the germ of a good idea exists (fillum within a fillum) but isn't ever properly explored. More of a running gag than a movie, I'd avoid this like a rent-hungry landlord.

A lousy title but a great flick. A very, very dark comedy and Dylan Moran is superb.

This Movie was absolutely hysterical! As is true with most foreign films, the pacing was a bit slower than I am used (esspecially for a comedy), but I think that the pacing was part of what added to the charm and humor of this film... The acting in this film was superb, and the comic timing was impecable. and I really think that is what kept this film's morbid sense of humor enjoyable... This cinematography was nothing short of a work of art. Filmed in increadible way, The amazing lighting and bizzare yet inspired angles of filming paired with great comic timing ensured that this was not just another comedy!
