I don't know if there is another movie that manages to depict the bonds of friendship quite as well. The friendships I have developed online were my small attempt to recreate the magic between Helene and Frank. This movie is a love letter to books and words.

Lovely story of romance that develops between two transatlantic correspondents, who sadly never get to meet. Though a sad ending it is a great film thats strength lies purely in the wonderful acting and portrayal of the leading characters from Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins.One I have watched many times and probably will again.

Lovely and bittersweet - I love romance and this is less romance and more of a pen pal friendship spanning space and time.

This is one of the best Anthony Hopkins movies I've seen. I've seen it at least 15 times and still love it!!
