In my opinion, this was the most entertaining Hindi movie of 2014. Alia Bhatt gives a phenomenal performance as a Tamilian, and the story is fantastic. "Mast Magan" is a classic song.

2 States is an effort to go beyond formula while also embracing formulaic elements, including some nice song-and-dance sequences. The mix isn’t right yet. But that ambition provides its own tensions and energies, which help 2 States from feeling becalmed.

Good story and well made. Maybe cliched ,but doesn't detract from the entertainment . Does try to explore a few different relationships and does it well. Well directed and well enacted.

The best part of the film is the awkward relationship between Krish and his overbearing, abusive, alcoholic father, played superbly by Ronit Roy.
