This is a great film- without a doubt, it inspires and motivates. As a StudentsFirst staff member, I see and read about parents and teachers wanting to be a more active part of positive change in our schools. The movie hits on this theme, and is extremely relevant given the momentum for positive change in our education system, taking place across the country. It's a must-see!

It was a great movie, showing the difference parents can make in the face of an entrenched bureaucracy when they want to change their failing schools.

The paid critics are correct that the principal actors deliver strong performances. Most of their critical commentary beyond that is blatantly biased. Like Norma Rae, this is a powerful account of the real life struggle of "little" parents trying fight with "big" powerful teachers unions. The anecdotes all come from real life. Yet the critics consensus is if the film's criticism is against a union instead of corporate American is a bad story??? It makes you rethink the question: WHY did the Foreign Press Assoc. award Waiting For Superman with BEST documentary and the American Film Academy never even nominated it ?!?!? This is a well told story that ALL parents with children in the public education system should see.

I really liked this movie because the mother was doing her best to get a education for her daughter and also changing a school and giving the kids a better education by taking over the school so its a really inspiring movie
