Why We Fight (2005)

Is American foreign policy dominated by the idea of military supremacy? Has the military become too important in American life? Jarecki's shrewd and intelligent polemic would seem to give an affirmative answer to each of these questions.

I found that preparation to watch this movie, and really understand it, is to watch the movie Lose Change. I watched Loose Change and I will say that it really changed my life. Its a shame that the Iraq and 9/11 debunking cannot be a regular conversation with close members of your family for the fact that so many people have been deceived.

Far from an objective view on war, but incredibly intersting all the same.

This film is not about the Psychology of war. Nor does it focus on the expansive divisions in America regarding any war. This film is about how the American government and her foreign policy is heavily influenced and even directed at times, by the military industrial complex. We've heard it before, but never spoken this well. It made me question how influenced Canadian policy is by similar groups. The single most important lesson in this film is that the elected officials are not running the show.
