A coming of age story set in 1975 working-class Brooklyn, in which two teenage brothers living with their abusive father and their well-meaning but ineffective mother are caught up in a life of petty crime. Older brother Danny concocts a daring scheme to steal enough money for the two to escape, timed around the chaos of an upcoming Rolling Stones concert. The sensitive younger brother, Brian, ultimately has a choice: remain loyal to the brother with whom he shares a powerful love-hate bond, or use his hidden talent as an artist as his own ticket out of their dead-end existence.

This movie was a great little surprise. I thought the acting was great especially dad. I really felt attached to the characters. I can't believe I haven't heard of this before.

A thriller in an alcoholic household in Bay Ridge, shot in 17 days for $600K! We loved it. Karen Allen is acting her age, Stephen Ames is a monster, Reigert is perfect, and the other young actors are great in one of their first movies. I am originally from Flatbush,; this movie is especially for anyone from Brooklyn.

Such a realistic approach to any dysfunctional family situation. John Gray does an amazing job of utilizing the acting styles of NIck Thurston and Stephen Lang. Together, the entire cast and crew make you feel like you are part of the family, and it is so easy to relate to the struggles of leaving your home. Over all a beautifully made film that ought to be seen by everyone.

Nick Thurston was dynamite!! This movie is one of those movies that makes you want do something different in your life and in away is very inspirational. Through the compelling story you realize your in contol of what you want to do. White Irish Drinkers delivers and delivers hard! its one of those movies that hits every aspect a movie should, drama, romance, action, humor, some crime. Its soo good, that i would definitely go see it again..... Its a must see... oh and ignore the critics... they are clueless.
