At heart, this jolly, galumphing crowd-pleaser, which won the audience award at last year's Toronto International Film Festival, is a raucous sitcom about scrappy little boys whose canny mamas conspire to keep them out of trouble.

A group of brave women who struggle, plot, keep secrets and bury their own pain to keep the peace in their small isolated village... Amazing movie, not too musical

A hugely entertaining and frequently hilarious comedy with a witty script, inventive direction, a handful of enjoyable musical numbers and terrific comic performances from a superb ensemble cast.

Beautiful piece of art. Nadine Labaki's second feature film is a picture frame about how to live with differences. The story of a small village in Lebanon and how Christians and Muslims lived in peace till the war started. Women were an active player in keeping the pieces together.
