In 1975, the long slog of civil war has recently begun in Beirut. Two friends, Tarek and Omar, suffer during the Lebanese civil war. Conflicts arise when they decide to cross from West to East, crossing the Muslim-Christian line that divides Beirut.

A story about teens in a war torn city trying to go about their lives as if the war around them is nothing but a background scene in a painting. Only later does it down on them that the background has rushed forward, and threatens to take from them the spotlight, to overshadow their lives in ways they (and us, the audience) will never forget. A powerfully under-toned movie with a simple message, and a simple delivery that is simply outstanding.

Puts you in the spot of the civil war had taken place in the late 70's in Beirut and sinceI used to be there several times in almost every summer vacation I think it gives me answers on how some places there are still destroyed and the relation between each religion and areas there. Very interesting and underrated work and maybe the not the only one because its made by an arab director but this is my favourite, excellent acting.
