It follows the Blair Witch formula for an hour, in which we're told something creepy and vague is in the works, and then it goes awry in the final 30 minutes.

This is going to sound weird, but I don't even remember seeing the wendigo/creature if they did show it at all, but I do remember the parents humping while some crazy hick leers at a nearby window. Uhhh. Anyway.

Fessenden uses an unsettling mix of montage, time-lapse photography and animation to create an atmosphere of great, unknowable menace that closely approximates the haunted spirit of Algeron Blackwood's unforgettable tale "The Wendigo." These hills are indeed alive.

Could've been a thousand times better, could've been authentically scarey, but they barely tried. I feel bad for this movie. It was mistreated and abused!

My first exposure to Larry Fessenden, and holy shit it was terrifying. I love this movie.
