Weird Woman (1944)

After bringing his beautiful new wife Paula home to America from a remote island on which she was raised, Professor Norman Reed begins to feel the clash between his world of rational science and hers of bizarre dancing and freaky voodoo rituals. Norman's stuck-up friends also sense Paula's strangeness, and soon their meddling gossip and suspicious scheming push the poor woman to use her magic to defend herself and her husband – and maybe even to kill! Or is it just the power of suggestion...?

NIce breakaway from the standard horror damsel for Evelyn Ankers.

The second film in the Inner Sanctum series is a little more straight forward and features less mystery but it never drags. The mixture of voodoo magic and psychological thrills makes for good fun and the final image of Evelyn Ankers is a shocker.

Batshit crazy movie about a man who marries a woman raised by jungle natives (!!), The woman still believes a lot of the jungle magic, but the guy thinks it's all jungle oogah-boogah. Some other people though, take advantage of this info and try to use it against them, like framing them for murder. A movie that just gets crazier and crazier as it goes along, this is a fun movie!

Another Inner Sanctum and another good movie! I like the mix of weird (in this case voodoo witchcraft) and psychological / psychiatric mumbo jumbo that mixes. I was expecting an occult detective series based on the titles, but these have been pretty great.
