In 1999, Internet entrepreneur Josh Harris recruits dozens of young men and women who agree to live in underground apartments for weeks at a time while their every movement is broadcast online. Soon, Harris and his girlfriend embark on their own subterranean adventure, with cameras streaming live footage of their meals, arguments, bedroom activities, and bathroom habits. This documentary explores the role of technology in our lives, as it charts the fragile nature of dot-com economy.

This documentary was amazing. A beyond genius guy goes from being worth 80 million to Zero + an apple farm. I actually learned something for once. I thought I knew everything. Shit. For example, this movie will explain to you why I've just felt the need to brag about myself and leave this comment on my facebook page and even shamelessly admit that I'm bragging about myself. I mean...as if anyone gives a fuck? They don't but I do and this little doc will explain why. Josh Harris. Everyone should know this guys name. He has a sad little story but I feel like Josh Harris is due for a comeback. He needs a Round 4 or maybe it's 5.

This is a brilliant but ultimately unsettling documentary. The guy who invented online reality TV is a crazy genius who's so far up his own ass its totally fascinating. He's also frighteningly accurate when it comes to predicting and understanding the relationship between reality and the virtual world. At one point he was worth 80 million, Now he's broke. For the sake of his own mental state I hope he stays where he has ended up.

An interesting documentary. I kinda wished there was more of the last 20 minutes spread throughout the movie (talking about where we're at now), but the whole thing does work by giving a sort of prophetic warning via Josh Harris. I thought the Quiet experiment was the most interesting -- what happens to us as individuals and a collective group, and even our capability for intimacy, when we surrender privacy. Crazy stuff. Personally, I find myself craving privacy more and more as the world becomes more public. I've started to feel more protective of my private life. And I hope I can maintain that desire, because I certainly don't want to end up fulfilling Harris' predictions.

Terrific documentary! A must-see for anyone who spends their time online, which means, if you're reading this, you do. Almost convincing enough to make me delete my facebook account and move to the countryside. Almost.
