This movie had an excellent idea, the makeup and costumes could have been better but the idea is original and the movie was entertaining

(56%) A rather silly, yet entertaining comic horror that offers more than its fair share of cheap laughs and a quite large amounts of blood and gore. The thin plot and half ideas may have better suited a short, but if it's a variety in monsters you want then this has a good number featured in small sub-plots, though as usual with these things some are better than others while none are actually very good. There's a few famous faces popping up here and there, a good dose of quality throughout, and the direction has the feel that it was done by someone who actually cared. Overall a worthy, though not essential light-hearted sit for any 1980's horror fan.

really enjoyable horror movie, a combination of magic, alternate dimensions and good protagonists make this and interesting creepy movie. hopefully the sequel is just as good. and just as campy as this one

A horror anthology placed in the framework of 4 college students taken in by a neighborhood wax museum that opens at midnight. Werewolves, vampires, mummies... This movie tries to be every movie at once which is very confusing. The wax sculptures have the ability to transport the guests to other dimensions which can lead to their demise. The story that's supposed to anchor the whole thing is flimsy at best, and it just ends up being a loose pretext to showcase a bunch of homages to classic films that don't hold up under the film's obviously limited budget. There's some decent gore (particularly the werewolf segment) and entertainment to be had for those in search of meaningless fluff, but the lack of focus may turn more discerning viewers away.
